A leading local architect designed an award winning contemporary home for this small site with comanding views of the ocean beach, parade and surrounding islands.

The client wanted a new modern look injected with personality without losing comfort. Whilst the interior shapes were all clean lines, tactile surfaces were required to avoid a sterile minimilist interior.

Using natural stone flooring and timber enabled us to combine sophisticated natural form with softer looking finishes. Furniture shapes were kept simple, the use of natural fabrications; linens and silks, conveyed a sense of easy luxury, perfect for beach living. A glass facade on the front of the house dictated the role light was to play, colours were kept soft and splashes of ocean colours added interest and context.
